
Scope of Work
Lead media relations, event marketing and staging, copy and design for a series of events hosted by LGBTQ+ Victory Institute at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, IL.
Project Description
LGBTQ+ Victory Institute held multiple events during the 2024 Democratic National Convention, including a fundraiser and Hall of Fame induction ceremony, partnership events, panels, and speeches. I lead the team in design work, media relations, event scripting and messaging, managing a Creative Director, Marketing Manager, and an external contractor.
Communications Project Involvement
Planning and Messaging
We collaborated with internal and external partners to create promotional and marketing copy, run of show messaging, talking points, speeches, media releases and advisories.
Digital Campaign
We created email and social marketing collaterals to promote our events across channels, and leveraged UGC to drive visibility of events on the ground.
Media Relations
We coordinated media interviews and event coverage resulting in nearly 20 original pieces of content including placement in Forbes, Chicago Tribune, NBC News, LGBTQ+ Nation and others.

Creative Assets
Digital Assets
Our creative director and marketing manager executed the creation of digital assets to promote the event and create flyers, invitations, web and social graphics.

The look extended to physical assets, including in-person signage, wayfinders and staging.
Key Media Hits
We issued media advisories and interview briefs ahead of the DNC event and coordinated media relations on site, as well as prepping leaders for DNC media hits at the convention venue.
